Senior Cricket
Upper Hopton Cricket Club currently run two Senior cricket sides in sections B and D of the Huddersfield Central Cricket League. We're always looking for players to join our teams so if you're interested please take a look around the pages below where you will find links to fixture lists, results and contact details for our 1st and 2nd XI captains.
Both teams play their home games at the Sutcliffe Memorial ground on Jackroyd Lane in Upper Hopton and are always keen for your support so if you're at a loose end on a Saturday afternoon please feel free to join us for food, drink and, most importantly, some good cricket.
Upper Hopton 1st XI
Upper Hopton 1st XI play in Section B of the Huddersfield Central Cricket League. After being relegated to Section B a couple of years ago Upper Hopton have rebuilt a first XI around a number of young up and coming local players, products of our own strong junior set up, and following some consistent seasons Upper Hopton are looking to push on and fight for promotion in the upcoming season.
Upper Hopton 2nd XI
Upper Hopton 2nd XI are in Section D of the HCCL. Following promotion from Section E a number of years ago Upper Hopton 2nd XI have secured a regular place in Section D with a mixture of experience and young talent. On average at least 3 players in the 2nd XI are under 21 and as such Junior players always have the opportunity to play Senior cricket from an early stage with some Under 15s and 17s holding down regular places.
